Grant Public Schools                                                                                        December 18, 2006

 

The Board of Education of the Grant Public Schools met in special session on Monday, December 18, 2006 with President, Dave Robinson presiding.

 

Board Members Present: Dave Robinson, President; Jim Stuart, Vice President; Bob Jenema, Treasurer; Jon Chase, Jill Niewiadomski, and Paul Roberts Trustees.

Administrators Present: Scott Bogner, Superintendent; Tom Szocinski, H.S. Principal; Scott Cousineau, H.S. Assistant Principal; and John Klever, Learning Center Director.

President, Dave Robinson, called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.  

 

 

Motion by Bob Jenema, supported by Jon Chase, to approve the agenda as presented.

AGENDA

 

 

Motion Approved 6-0

 

 

 

Mr. Dave Robinson, President, informed all that the meeting today was to determine whether to expel the student who was the subject of a memo from the superintendent that they received dated December 15, 2006.

 

Mr. John Klever, Learning Center Director, informed all of what he knew in regards to the incident.

 

Mr. Scott Cousineau, High School Asst. Principal, informed all of the events that occurred on the day of December 7th, 2006, including what he saw on the security camera video.

 

Members of the board asked questions of the administrators in regards to the incident.  The board discussed the recommendation to expel and what would happen to said student educationally after the expulsion.

 

Motion by Bob Jenema, supported by Paul Roberts, to expel said student from the Grant Public Schools for a period of 180 days.

There being no further business before the Board, President Dave Robinson declared the meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
