The Finance Committee met on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. with Dave Robinson, Committee Chairperson, presiding.

The committee listened to a presentation by John Creachbaum from Conn-Selmer Corporation regarding the All-American High School Band Program his company sponsors.  We have received a grant in excess of $52,000 toward the purchase of instruments from the Fremont Area Community Foundation.  Several options were presented and a decision was made to opt for a 3 year lease option for the original proposal.  The committee instructed Mr. Bogner and Mr. Ostyn to meet with the Music Boosters to explore the possibility of the Music Boosters contributing toward the project.  If a meeting can be secured, the proposal will be brought before the Board of Education on May 12th.

 

Mrs. Lesley presented the proposed budget amendments for 2007/2008.

 

The committee discussed the upgrading of the camera systems in the busses instead of the purchase of a new bus this year.  The members agreed to upgrade the bus camera systems with John Williams being in charge of the technology aspect of the project.

 

Staffing for next year was briefly discussed.

 

With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
