The After School program is designed to provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere for children during the hours immediately after school. Children will benefit from tutoring, homework support, Leapfrog Schoolhouse activities, field trips, many enrichment activities, supervised recreation activities and positive social interaction with their peers.

The Leapfrog Schoolhouse program is a unique and fun way to enhance your child's school day academics with fun-filled activities that will reinforce reading, writing and math skills taught in the student's daily classroom. This program correlates to state and national test standards. Staff is available to help students complete daily homework assignments. Students participate in enrichment and recreational activities daily.

This year students will have the opportunity to participate in CPR classes as well as an exercise program called Walk Across Michigan in the Elementary and Middle School programs. Students in the Primary Center will also have the opportunity to participate in several different exercise activities. Students in all the buildings will work towards special rewards as they complete the exercise activities. We will also teach students how to create healthy snacks. Our goal is to help students maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Students in all three buildings will have the opportunity to win large prizes at an end-of-the-year raffle. Attendance, academics progress, behavior, helping peers and staff, and community service are just a few of the opportunities the students will have to earn these tickets.

The cost is $30.00 per child per semester ($15.00 for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch.) Snacks are provided daily.

When this program ends, children may attend Kids’ Club (see Kids’ Club on the following page for more information), ride the bus home, be picked up by a parent, or walk home. If your child is picked up by a parent, the child MUST be picked up by 5:10. When school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, Student’s Choice Club will not be held.

PLEASE NOTE: All forms may be picked-up at the Recreation Office at the Administration Building. All forms must be completed and filed with applicable fees before your child may attend these programs.

Kids’ club is designed to meet the needs of parents who cannot pick their child up by 5:10 p.m. Monday -Thursday or do not want the child to ride a bus home. This program is also for parents who need care for their child on Friday. Children will have a choice of several board and card games to play. If the weather permits they will also have outdoor time.

A $10 annual registration fee per family is assessed and due prior to the first use of the Kids’ Club. Subsequent use fees are due at the end of each week.

Friday - 1st Session 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. $2.00 per child/day
