Q#1:   When you start a weight training program, do you need to increase

       the amount of protein you consume in your diet?

A:    Not usually, if one eats a regular, well-balanced diet.  With training extremes,   or if one gets a minimally adequate amount of protein in their diet (e.g. vegetarians), there may be a need to increase protein intake.  an adequate protein intake per day is 1.5 grams of protein per two pounds of body weight.
