Players Are Working Hard as we enter the Final Months of School

When this off-season began, there were some concerns about just how committed our kids would be this year.  Those concerns
are dwindling away as kids are working as hard as Ive seen them in the past 3 years.  We had a few of the current seniors
visit the weight room and they made several comments about how impressive it is to see kids being so involved.  Our attendance
numbers have continued to climb as we were averaging over 40 kids a day as we entered spring sports.  The varsity players have
been the most impressive averaging near 20 a day, but the younger kids attendance is up from last year too. You can see attendace
results by visiting the football website.  For Varsity Players, there is an attached list of your total hours so far.
As encouraging as the attendance numbers have been, it’s the work ethic that is most impressive.  Our players enjoy working
together and the excitement is contagious.
In addition to the weight room workouts, a couple kids have gone above and beyond by attending camps during march:
Matt Becker and Ray Vanputten each went to a QB Camp a few Saturdays ago.   I would dare to say its been a long time
Grant's History since players were heading to football camps in March.  With all that’s been happeninig and the group of kids we
have coming back, its easy to see why everyone is so excited about Friday Nights Next Fall.  There is still much work to be
accomplished this off-season, but the confidence is building that we will get it done!

Power Lifting:
We started entering Power Lifting competitions last year and had an "ok" turnout of kids participating.  This
year however, we nearly doubled our attendance as we had 13 different individuals enter these events.  Out of
the 13 players, 7 of them qualified for the state meet:  Jake Garza, Josh Alverson, John Wells, Lorenzo Lopez,
Kaleb Vargo, Cory Acosta and Jake Mikula.  To make things even better, 3 of these players: Mikula, Wells
and Garza earned top 10 finishes.  We also earned our first trophy with a 3rd place finish at the Regional
meet.  The guys did a great job representing our school and competing hard.  Great Job to all 13 kids!

Rocket Football Camp Dates:
