MISSION STATEMENT: Grant High School is committed to providing purposeful, educational experiences, a varied curriculum, and an environment that celebrates diversity, fosters respect, and encourages responsibility and life-long learning. Grant High School includes grades 9-12 with a student count of 650. The North Central Association accredited Grant High School in the spring of 2000. Our students have many scholastic class offerings to choose from as well as a wide range of extra-curricular activities available. The career minded student has the opportunity to attend the Newaygo County Career-Tech Center during their 11th and 12th grade years. All students are assisted in compiling a portfolio for post-graduate use and are required to log 30 hours of community service by graduation. Students have many choices when it comes to sports involvement. Our high school offers the following sports: football, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, equestrian, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls cross-country, golf, fall and winter cheerleading, volleyball, wrestling, baseball, softball and track. Grant also offers many groups and organizations for extra-curricular involvement such as: FFA, Foreign Language Club, National Honor Society, PRIDE, Quiz Bowl, Ski Club, Student Council, Theatrics, Varsity Club and Yearbook. NOTES OF INTEREST: The National Honor Society of Grant High School inducted 25 new members this fall to bring our total to 49 members. The GHS Marching Band competed in the MCBA State Championships in Detroit in November and placed 10th in Flight IV. The Beaver Island Club will again travel to Beaver Island in Northern Michigan this coming April to conduct scientific experiments on site.
