You couldn't ask for a better setup going into a Friday night basketball game. Big Rapids came into the game with one CSAA loss to the Tigers. Grant's unblemished record in conference play gave them a 1/2 game lead on the Cardinals. It was either win and be undisputed, or lose and share the title. It was a great game from the start. Both teams mades small runs throughout keeping the game close. Hatch led in the 1st qtr with 11, then Phillips followed with 11 in the 2nd. They scored 22 and 28 respectively. In the second half DeLong scored (including the 3 OT's) 12 of his 14 points. Booth hit the tying 3 pointer to send to OT. There were big shots by Powell, important put backs by Swanson, and great defense by Chesebro. It was a great team effort. Yes, you read that right 3 OT's. It took seven quarters of basketball to finally determine the winner of the CSAA. An inbounds play with six seconds left determined the final outcome. Now, on to district play. The boys play Wednesday against the winner of Tri-County and Comstock Park at 5:30 in Forest Hills East. Tickets can be found at
